About the Author
Natasha Wing was born in Milford, Connecticut, and now lives in Fort Collins, Colorado. After graduating from Arizona State University she married Daniel Wing and worked in advertising for a number of years. It wasn't until 1991 that she decided to write children's books. Luckily she sold her first book within six months and has been writing children's books and articles ever since.

Natasha Wing delivers an exciting, fun-filled book that children will love. The author pens a birthday story that invites the children to read, and enjoy. This story will light up any child's eyes in excitement, as it inspires and motivates from beginning to end. The author highlights that a 'birthday' may not be a holiday, but for children, it's the best day of the year. How true it is, and as I read on, this delightful story reminded me so much of all the birthday parties I had for my daughters for many years. The beautiful memories do live on.
This fun-filled story tells about the anticipation of a young child, waiting for the big day to come. The rhyming verse throughout invites the young reader to share the joy of this celebration from the night before, until the party ends. The colorful characters compliment this fun story as they come to life, while showing the excitement of a birthday party with friends, and family.
The birthday party finally begins, after more ice cream had to be purchased at the store. The children enjoy the balloons, streamers, cake, ice cream and more. A young boy is very excited. Soon he will celebrate another birthday. There will be balloons and party favors, along with gifts from friends. For him, its not a holiday but it is the best day of the year. When that day finally arrives and the house is all decorated a giant mishap occurs. All of the ice cream and some balloons have become a disaster on the kitchen floor. But there is no need to panic.
Mom checked in the freezer.
“We don't have any more.”
“Come on, birthday kid,” said Dad.
“Let's go to the store.”
Away to the market, we made a mad dash,
grabbed cartons of ice cream,
and checked out in a flash.
