Great companion to the Goonies film!

If you've ever wondered what it was like to get behind the scenes and get a non hollywood view of a film, this is it! And the movie is the Goonies! Coming 25 or so years after the movie, a young aspiring director lands an "internship" job with Goonies Director Richard Donner and finds himself on the set of the Goonies. This book is a great account of what it would be like to be a fly on the wall on the set. The author gives great account of the filming of this classic movie while it shot on location in his hometown of Astoria, Oregon. He has some great never before stories, as well as movie information never before recounted. This is a must have for any Goonies fan and even for those who enjoy a good behind the scenes book of a movie. Goonies never say Die!

I bought this book after seeing a copy at the Oregon Film Museum in Astoria (in the old jail from the movie) and talking with a guest there who was actually part of the film crew (he showed me his picture in the book). For anyone who is a Goonies fan, this book is filled with great stories and pictures and is the next best thing to actually being there during the filming. It was great for me after visiting all of the sites from the movie. I recommend to any fan of the Goonies.

What can one say about Agatha Christie's "The Mousetrap?" Arguably I can say it is the true masterpiece of Agatha Christie. However, that is purely a subjective statement. However, if you have never read Agatha Christie, I urge you to pick up "The Mousetrap and Other Plays." Start with "The Mousetrap." By the end of the play you will be thristing for more of the Queen of Mystery. "The Mousetrap" is a true who done it tale, with so many twists and turns the reader is kept guessing right up until the end. Is everyone who they say they are? How many characters will survive? Who among the characters is the true murderer? Also in this book are other great plays: "Ten Little Indians," "The Witness for the Prosecution," and "Go Back for Murder." I am not going to give all the titles away as I don't want ot reveal too much about this masterpiece. I don't really consider myself a fan of Agatha Christie. My introduction to her was through a means of reading people don't typically enjoy: school. However, "The Mousetrap" can turn any casual reader into a person who reads Agatha Chrstie. If you want to read Agatha Christie start with this one. It also happens to be one of the longest running plays in history. In some part of the world, everyday, "The Mousetrap" continues to captivate audiences. Capivate yourself as a reader as well.

The Mousetrap; and Other Plays by the Queen of Crime Dame Agatha Christie will keep you enthralled for hours

The Queen of Crime Agatha Christie (1890-1976) the Devon Dame of Crime was a master of the murder mystery novel but was also adept at turning her books into playable and accessible plays. Christie's works have always been popular with London audiences and playgoers and movie fans throughout the world. In this cheap Signet edition you can have the work of Dame Agatha at a very reasonable cost. The plays are fun to read and display all the cleverness and genius of their playwright! Though Poirot and Miss Marple are absent as characters they are so good you will hardly miss their formidable presence!
Among the plays in this collection (there are 8 plays) the standouts are:
The Moustetrap: The longest running play in drama history is still seen each week at a small London theatre. it concerns a snowstorm at a small hotel. Molly and Giles are the young married couple who invite guests into their establishment. One of them is a murderer. Who is it? An intriguing play that will keep you guessing who done it!

Witness for the Prosecution. I enjoyed this play more than any other in the Signet collection. Did Leonard Voles murder Elizabeth French the old lady he was visiting on a regular basis despite the fact he was married to a German immigrant? The excellent movie starred Charles Laughton, Marlene Dietrich and Tyrone Power. A classic courtroom drama focused on judicial proceedings at the Old Bailey!

Ten Little Indians-There are more dead bodies than you can count in a Shakespearean foray into mayhem! A grisly play.

While the other plays in the collection are not as well known they are all worth reading. Enjoy this festschrift of Christie drama!

Kissing for Beginners

In her book, "Seal it with a Kiss," Violet Blue covers a lot of bases on the subject of kissing, however, it is definitely geared toward women - which isn't bad but maybe there should have been a heads up, because if men pick up the book looking for advice, they'll be disappointed. On the other hand, they can definitely learn some things if they can put themselves in the woman's place. Violet sometimes seems to be talking to school girls, particularly when she discusses kissing games. Overall, the information is good but if you have experience kissing and you're looking for new ideas, you're better served going elsewhere - this book covers the fundamentals. However, I really liked the fact that she mentions and is a proponent of eye contact, which is very important in making a connection during a kiss. Summary: good for female beginners.

A Good Addition to the Basics

"Seal It With a Kiss" is a book by Violet Blue and published by Cleis Press. The book is miniature in size at seven inches tall and five inches wide. It has a pretty discreet cover that can be taken out in public. The book is 131 pages and broken into nine different chapters. The book takes about a half an hour to an hour to read straight through; it's not a long read.

The book is definitely intended for heterosexual females. It's written in an "I'm your best friend" type of language, so it's nice and laid-back. It seem to be written towards heterosexual women in their twenties who are currently playing the dating field. Most of the tips don't seem to be focused towards those in relationships, but it isn't hard to modify the slight language nuances to apply to your situation. Males or homosexuals could also easily apply the techniques given in this book.

This book isn't chock full of amazingly unique ideas, but it definitely has its fair share of quite a few novel concepts. Some of the information is stuff I feel like I've read before online and in Cosmo/women's magazines, but some of the information is actually very informative. I definitely learned some good stuff by reading this book.

The book covers a nice variety of topics. It includes things like specific kissing techniques, types of good and bad kisses, how to turn a bad kisser into a good kisser, what to do about hickeys and stubble-rash, party games to play with group kissing or just couple kissing, "advanced" techniques like flavored lip gloss and how to share your food/beverage during a kiss, and how to make your lips appear more kissable. It also talks about more "mental" aspects like how to accentuate the teasing before a kissing, how to form a connection during your kiss, and how to create suspense.

Overall, Violet Blue has made a pretty detailed book that, while not all novel (after all, how many different ways can you kiss?), still includes a very big chunk of new information that will turn you into a better kisser.

Even If You Think You Know How to Suck Face, You Can Still Learn a Lot From This Book

To be honest, I never thought there'd be that much to say about kissing, but Violet Blue has managed to provide some expert tips and make me think about kissing in new ways. I guess I figured it was something you either know how to do, or you don't, and she walks readers through every aspect, from prepping for a kiss, types of kissers, types of kisses and how to get the most bang for your puckering up.

Blue is funny, too, such as telling readers about the Zoolander kiss; "The Zoolander makes you feel like you're a pretty prop designed to make him look good as he poses, shifts, and gives his `sexy' face to the world while kissing you. Would he notice if you were gone? Probably not." Yes, she covers bad kissers too.

I like that she doesn't neglect kisses to other parts of the body than the lips, either. Personally, I'm a fan of the back and love kissing the shoulders, upper back, and also the chest.

Even if you think you're the best kisser in the world (I'm not that arrogant, but thought I knew the basics), you can learn how to make your smooches sizzle even more with these tidbits of mouth-watering advice. Bonus points: if you're an erotica writer, like me, you can also get some ideas for your next story, because kissing can sometimes be underrated in both real life and on the page. This book is both fun and informative and will, I hope, be beneficial to my boyfriend who is the recipient of most of my kisses!

This book is so helpful for any relationship.

This is one of my top books i enjoyed and it was eye-opening. It has helped with the resentment from growing up in a family that did not validate, recognize or acknowledge their children. We were there to make Mom happy. This is a book to read if you think that you have to BE a certain way in order to get love, attention, or approval. It does not Blame anybody, which was important to me. It explains that maybe you didn't grow up with horrible parents, but that your parents might have their own issues and you don't have to continue the same pattern with your spouse, children, friends, co-workers, etc. Wonderful book!

The book is very informative and clearly outlines the process for working through recurring inner-conflicts. It may be difficult to do the work without the assistance of a mentor or therapist due to the layers of emotion and our human tendency to assign blame rather than take personal responsibility for our issues. The work also has a deeply spiritual aspect and is aligns with 12-step principles. There was not a provision for past-life work but, anybody w/ that inclination could easily incorporate the process to include prior life patterns.

This is a great study of relationship dynamics covering many deep seated problems. Just knowing how to recognize when and why you are in a power struggle, or the many forms of control that we all use can be very helpful in repairing a relationship by learning where the pain is coming from. Be prepared to own your part in all of it.
